Tekdis: Delivering Top Quality Digital Signage Screens for Commercial Use

Prioritising a strong digital signage display is one of the most important things a business can do to boost conversions. When digital signage is done well, it not only grabs the customer’s eye; it also raises brand awareness, delivers critical information, increases conversions, and tells your customers what your company’s all about. It’s for this very reason why digital commercial displays have become a sought after asset for business owners across a wide range of industries. If you’re considering upgrading your own company’s digital signage screens, here are the things you need to keep in mind…

DIFFERENT TYPES OF DIGITAL SIGNAGE

Like most things in life (and certainly like most things in tech), digital display screens come in many different varieties. The best version for you might be informed by your brand, your demographic, and your store’s physical location; but ultimately it also comes down to your own personal tastes. Digital signage doesn’t just have to reflect the business you’ve got; it can also reflect the business you wish to be!

LCD Screen

LCD Display

Sometimes, you just can’t go past a classic. An LCD display screen (or Liquid Display Screen, if you’ve got time) is a flat panel display that utilises the light-modulating properties of liquid crystals in tandem with polarisers to create optoelectronic imagery that’s as sharp as the shiny future we live in. LCD screens come in a variety of different formats, both large and small, and they typically fall on the inexpensive side of the fence. This shouldn’t suggest a lack of quality; they typically have good picture quality, it’s simply not always as bright and lucid as what high definition screens can offer, and a lack of brightness also means they’re not ideal for outdoor use. Though there are certainly flashier options out there, if you want something that’s affordable and reliable for indoor display.

LED Screens

LED Screens

An LED screen will typically have a higher definition than your standard LCD screen, and they come in the same range of sizes as LCD screens. LED display screens generally use less energy than LCD screens, despite the fact that an LED screen is typically much brighter than that of an LCD. Due to this more advanced technology, an LED screen will usually cost a bit more than an LCD, but they will also last nearly twice as long as an LED screen, with a substantially longer screen life. So if you want bang for your buck, a sturdy LCD screen may be what you’re looking for.

Video Wall

A video wall consists of a minimum of 4 small displays, each measuring typically 1m x 1m, that are arranged like tiles, synced to create a bigger show, and function as one screen. Because of this, video walls can be nearly any shape or size, however they typically start at 2m x 2m.

They are the most affordable option to build a large display and provide a great deal of versatility, but if one screen malfunctions, the entire video wall is rendered useless. They are also limited to indoor use only. On the plus side; they look cool as all heck, and they make for a positively stunning and eye-grabbing visual display that people are bound to notice.

Interactive Displays

Interactive displays enable users to navigate on-screen data via the touch of a finger. Their most common function is assisting customers and clients with information; for example, learning more about a product or service, locating a product (or finding the actual store’s location), but at their own pace and without the need to find a shop attendant. They’re ideal for businesses that get a lot of traffic but wish to maintain good customer relations by providing them with the information they need. Many customers often prefer using interactive displays rather than talking to a shop attendant, as it lets them find the information they need at their own pace, without the feeling that they’re being coerced into a purchase.

Small Format Screens

These are the kinds of screens that you’ll sometimes see out the front of shops, showrooms, hotels, etcetera. They are often interactive and designed to provide customers with any relevant information that they may be seeking in regards to your business. They are typically around 20 inch screens that are fastened onto a little pedestal. Small format screens are extremely handy when there is vital information that you want to convey to your customers as quickly (but also as casually) as possible. You also, of course, buy large format screens if you so require.

Digital Signage Screens Are Suitable For All Applications

In the broadest sense, the purpose of a digital screen is to convey information, which is a crucial necessity for all businesses (and indeed, for human communication in general).  Via digital imagery and text, you can use your digital screens to display promotions, service offerings, instructions, directories, maps, company memos, company advertisements, games, event schedules,  interactive forms, inspirational quotes, memes, news, social media, and more. You’re really only limited by your own imagination!
